Can we meet you?
My name is Adegbuyi oluwatimileyin oluwabukunmi
I'm in my mid 20s
A fresh graduate of olabisi onabanjo university from the department of POLITICAL SCIENCE
The last born of a family of seven
An entrepreneur, also an extrovert.
What is the motive behind you going for your course and how do you feel being a graduate of your department?
I would say politics is something I got to know from an early age, I have an uncle who participated well in politics and still participating including my Mom, so I've been aware of political parties, campaigns, elections as early as I could remember, then it was time to pick a course of study and I thought to myself it's would be nice to study the government, state and the people....especially how our resources are being allocated.....who gets what, when and how by harold lasswel
Importantly i feel so good being a graduate of political science, I understand better how different state functions, the government, the people and the resources
You need to study political science to understand better how It feels being a graduate of this great discipline
Would you you choose this part again ? YES
So, from our little findings, we discovered you were one time Assistant General secretary of your Faculty, how were you able to attain that position and mingle it with school activities?
First it was my desire to serve my faculty (service to humanity) and for someone studying politics it won't be bad to practicalize it, so I just worked towards my desire, I've been participating in school politics right from 100level before I became the faculty AGS in 200l and honestly it wasn't easy, my cgpa suffered it at a point in time, days when I had to carry out official assignments at my inconvenience, but I'm happy I served my faculty, I got to notice the effect on my academics early and I instantly made corrections to my schedules, had to create more time for my studies, had good and intelligent friends that put me through on lectures I missed.
What is your perspective about the Nigerian politics and what do you think is the way forward?
If we are to go into this I might have to write a book oooo(lol)
One thing I'm sure of is that I still believe in Nigeria, one day we would have a Nigeria we all want but it all starts with us right from our bedroom, lets curb social vices, lets come together in unity, lets keep to one voice , lets carry out our social, political responsibilities and with God, Nigeria would be Great
Do you plan to engage in any political activity in the nearest future? YES
What is your main driving force in life?
The fact that I'm a being made by God shows I have purposes to fulfill.
Also, I have myself to make proud, my dad and mum including my siblings
Who was your biggest motivation while in school and even after school who is?
Myself, I motivated myself, I have people I admire but I motivate myself every single day (you're your biggest motivation) I just do better thann I did yesterday
You were a one time member of the Veecee success stories, true or false? TRUE
What’s your view of the organization and your advice for it?
Veecee success stories is an excellent association to have been established by great minds, it's an association that celebrate, honor great people and importantly encourage more people to greatness , when you celebrate people, you also learn and strive like them which is the positive motivation this generation presently needs, also VSS gave me the first platform to be an interviewer and I must say it remains one of my best moments while in school, and I believe Veecee success stories is expanding more into d world...Thank you VSS
What’s advice do you have for undergraduates who still finds it hard to mingle school duties with othe social and non social activities?
The first thing i tell young ladies/gentlemen coming into the big world (university) is " do not forget your primary assignment in OOU" every other thing comes after your academics, you can socialize and participate in political and social activities if you can set your priorities right. Have plans, associate with good mindsets and don't over do yourself.....
Thank you.
