I am Aiyepola Zuliat Olasubomi.
WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO PURSUE YOUR CURRENT COURSE OF STUDY, AND HOW DO YOU SEE YOURSELF APPLYING YOUR KNOWLEDGE IN THE FUTURE?
The quest for attaining justice especially at the point of resolving conflicts brought me to the warm hands of this noble profession(LAW).
As a budding Philadelphia lawyer, I see myself exploring the nitty gritty of the legal profession in a bid to discover novel areas and create awareness about them using any method I find convenient even if it involves tutoring.
CAN YOU DESCRIBE A PARTICULARLY CHALLENGING PROJECT OR ASSIGNMENT YOU'VE WORKED ON? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME OBSTACLES?
One of those assignments that kept me on my toes was looking for all the defenses to crimes under the codes and looking for at least 5 cases to them. I am this type of person that would take pain to do assignments myself rather than copy
someone else’s work. So I do put in a lot of efforts in doing my assignments too. Trying to meet up with the deadline became difficult because I had several tasks to submit on that same deadline.
I was able to overcome it by reaching out to others for help and delegating some of my tasks for others to execute.
CAN YOU GIVE AN EXAMPLE OF A TIME WHEN YOU DEMONSTRATED LEADERSHIP OR TEAMWORK SKILLS?
A distinct one is when I was appointed as the Class Governor of my set during my ICMC training. The task wasn’t really difficult but it was challenging because it came in unexpected and at a time I had so many responsibilities to deal with. Then, I was heading different groups and associations. The great task was leading people whom I regarded as seniors. Like! How do I lead them? That was my first time taking that kind of leadership role. With the help of Allah I was able to lead successfully.
I demonstrated my leadership skill by displayIng humility and confidence. To strengthen the spirit of teamwork, I gave them the avenue to bring up suggestions first and consider their opinions before making decisions.
HOW DO YOU HANDLE STRESS, PRESSURE, OR SETBACKS?
I take breaks.
4. HOW DO YOU PRIORITIZE TASKS AND MANAGE TIME EFFECTIVELY?
Tasks which I consider to have the most significant result appears to be the most prioritized on my list, followed by others. Actually, I do make use of scale of preference a lot. Where I have two pressing tasks, I allocate equal time to each.
5. WHAT ARE YOUR GREATEST STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESS
Resilience and ability to work under pressure are skills I know I possess greatly . As good as it is for me, it doesn’t sit well with my health nature at all. Sometimes I fall short of the much needed good health to execute my high spirit of resilience.
WHAT DO YOU THINK ARE THE MOST VALUABLE ASPECTS OF YOUR UNIVERSITY EXPERIENCE SO FAR?
spending time studying and teaching others.
HOW DO YOU ENGAGE WITH THE UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY (E.G., CLUBS, ORGANIZATIONS, VOLUNTEER WORK)? I try to actively participate in the clubs I join because I see them as commitments and I shall be accountable, someday.
CAN YOU DESCRIBE A MEMORABLE LEARNING EXPERIENCE OR INTERACTION WITH A LECTURER?
Corroboration class in law of Evidence with Mr Odeyale. It was like an eye opener, his manner of teaching heightened my interest in litigation.
HOW DO YOU THINK THE UNIVERSITY COULD IMPROVE OR SUPPORT STUDENTS BETTER?
Through scholarships and incentives. Also a more practical approach of learning would motivate students.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO INCOMING FRESHMAN
Have a plan, a goal. Your goals motivates you to look for opportunities to excute your plans. While your plan keeps you focused.
. HOW WOULD YOU APPROACH A COMPLEX PROBLEM OR ETHICAL DILEMMA IN YOUR FIELD?
Law itself is body of rules governed by principles. Approaching such problem depends on the situation. However, I would apply the appropriate rules of legal ethics. My guide would definitely include following the rules of professional conduct.
CAN YOU WALK ME THROUGH YOUR THOUGHT PROCESS WHEN TACKLING A DIFFICULT LAW EXAM?
I try to write what I feel it’s the answer in a way that would convince any reader that what I have written is the right thing.
4. HOW DO YOU EVALUATE INFORMATION AND SOURCES FOR CREDIBILITY?
TO
Before any information could originate it must have a source. Therefore, I evaluate the source of the information, verify it’s authenticity, determine its relevance, check the authority and the find the accuracy of such information.
CAN YOU DISCUSS A CURRENT ISSUE IN YOUR FIELD AND POTENTIAL SOLUTION.
Poor ethical behaviors displayed by some lawyers and budding lawyers. This can be solved by increasing the sanction on defaulters. This will enable them to be law abiding and make them good role models to others.

- YOU OVERCAME A SIGNIFICANT OBSTACLE.
It was the time when I learnt how to study smartly rather than spend long hours in the Library. I overcame this with discussions with people who had passed through that stage or people I see doing it effortlessly.
